After spending any length of time on our site, you’re probably asking yourself how any other pond or Koi-related site could ever compare to the magic that is JoesKoi.com. Okay, maybe not. But there are several other sites online right now that we’re actually huge fans of. We highly recommend these sites to our friends and customers, who often times are one in the same. We’ve received no payment or special perks from owners of any of the sites listed below. We chose to post links to these sites because we personally enjoy visiting them ourselves, and strongly believe that continued sharing of Koi knowledge is the only way to ensure this great hobby continues to grow and prosper in the years ahead.

Koi Forums

We belong to several online Koi forums, but our screen name, “JoesKoi.com” is the same for all. Although the politics of Koi can become a bit irritating at times, there are few better resources we know of for truly gaining knowledge and understanding in the world of Koi Kichi. You’ll come to find that each Koi forum has its own unique take on the hobby. Some forums appeal more to those interested in raising show-quality Koi, others appeal to those interested in treating sick Koi, still others appeal to casual Koi keepers and water gardeners. Whatever your particular interests might be, there is definitely a Koi forum right for you. And if you join one (or several), be sure to find us there and drop us a line to say “hello.”

Koi Clubs

Joining a Koi Club is a great way to gain Koi and pond knowledge and build relationships with fellow hobbyists in the process. There are basically two main Koi clubs here in the states; these include the Associated Koi Clubs of America (AKCA) and Zen Nippon Airinkai (ZNA). Both AKCA and ZNA have regional chapters spread throughout the U.S. Members of regional chapters generally meet once a month. There are now online Koi clubs available for those interested in joining a club but who lack the necessary free time to attend regular meetings. The two major online Koi clubs in the U.S. include the Internet Koi Club of North American (IKONA) and the World Wide Koi Club (WWKC). IKONA is actually an offshoot of AKCA, intended to serve those living in areas without an existing AKCA local chapter. WWKC is not affiliated with AKCA or ZNA, but it also caters to persons who lack the time necessary to attend regular meetings. JoesKoi.com is a proud member of the WWKC, and we plan to join local chapters of both AKCA and ZNA sometime in the future.

Koi Magazines

When it comes to Koi magazines, there are basically only two magazines available here in the U.S. The first of these magazines, Koi USA, is the official publication of AKCA. The second of these magazines, Koi Nations, is still relatively new but is quickly growing in popularity. JoesKoi.com proudly endorses both magazines and feels they both serve to increase knowledge and popularity of this amazing and rewarding hobby.
